Being lovers of all things local when we're not out on the water, our recent discovery was the Root Restaurant in Georgetown. Right in the heart of downtown and perched beautifully along the Harborwalk, its location offers more than just a meal – it's an experience.
The ambiance of Root blends seamlessly with its surroundings. There's something special about dining with the subtle backdrop of the Harborwalk, watching the boats drift by, making the meal even more memorable.
Kicking off our meal, we dove into the Mussels Alla Root. Priced at a friendly $14.00, these mussels were both hearty and flavorful. Drenched in a white wine and sweet vermouth sauce with hints of garlic and the tang of grape tomatoes, it set the mood for the dishes to come.
Levi, our little food critic, opted for the 6oz Petite Filet. His plate was polished off, a testament to how well it was cooked – juicy, tender, and paired well with a crisp side salad.

I indulged in the Root Asian Teriyaki Tips. The quality of the meat stood out, especially the filet mignon and beef ribeye. Paired with fresh veggies and a teriyaki glaze that was spot on, it was a dish I'd return for. The side of sticky white rice was the ideal accompaniment.
